Treating Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic Dermatitis is a common type of eczema experienced by 20-30% of people at some point during their lives.  Often it is first noticed during the first few years of life and may appear as red patches on the face, in an infant, on the inside of the arms and backs of the knees in older children, or as hand dermatitis in an adult.  Some more severely affected individuals may have widespread involvement of the skin and eye problems.  The inflamed patches of skin can be extremely itchy and may cause difficulty sleeping.  Self-inflicted injuries to the skin can occur due to intense scratching and can lead to bacterial skin infections.  Viral skin infections may also be seen in the form of increased susceptibility to warts or molluscum contagiosum.

The Heartbreak of Psoriasis

The common skin condition Psoriasis (often referred to as the “Heartbreak of Psoriasis”) is more than just a skin disease. Psoriasis was once believed to be a disease limited to the skin that had red and scaly plaques present anywhere on the skin, hair, or nails. Apart from the external skin symptoms and potential embarrassment the symptoms may cause, this disease may signal an increase in total body inflammation. As a result, people that have psoriasis are at an increased risk for things such as heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, and obesity.

I cannot even begin to describe how much difference the laser treatments have made to my face. I honestly didn’t think I had so many issues with my skin, but that laser does amazing things. Jill and Jodi have been wonderful and they really know what they are doing... These treatments have totally changed the way I look and feel. For the first time in my life, most of my freckles are gone from my face and my face is presentable without makeup. You are the best and I truly appreciate you thinking about me.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
Elizabeth
